Really lastly, Brandon, I made my living for over 30 years writing and managing software for small companies for accounting and manufacturing applications and I don't believe I could have gotten by with telling my users to figure it out and good luck! Anyway enough venting. At least Roxio's site which you steered me to was a big help. Many people are uneasy getting into the bowels of their computer to undo someone else s crap. There should at least be a disclaimer to check for leftovers. Why can't they do a better job of cleaning them out? They must know that many users of this product are reinstalling. They know what programs and files and registry entries they put on a system. My problem is the uninstaller is so weak. I know it is very complex but it took longer than anything else I have put on my box. Lastly, I can't believe anybody would put out a product that does such a crappy job of installing itself. I am able to cancel the process but it is a nuisance and of course not right. It asks for a disk but wont read my install disk at that point. When I start the program it attempts to install a Roxio express labeler 3 program and of course there is nothing to install. I wish they would give you a choice at install but of course they want you to upgrade. Of course I also got the 3 divx icons which I have no interest in. Keep in mind that no update has been written since 2004 and it is unlikely any will be written for V6.Finally after using several uninstall services and manually searching for all files having to do with roxio or sonic I came up with a clean system and was able to install the package and come up with the proper icons. The other it to have a cheap product to address those in the market for a simple low end software. One is address the dwindling Win9x/NT systems still out there. I think they are putting it out there for two reasons. I have seen this box in retail stores and while Roxio doesn't mention it on the site, it is a supported Retail product. Yes, it is as it states, ECDC 6 Platinum. If it is v6 Platinum, you should be able to register it under that product shouldn't you?Ĭomplaints about installing the program and the program losing data, ect.Ĭan anyone tell me if this product really is ECD & DVD Creator 6 Platinum? If so when did Roxio start boxing it as Easy CD & DVD Burning? I'm asking because my computer came with an OEM version of ECD Creator (5.2.? upgraded to 5.3.5.10) installed and while I don't want or need the features of the Easy Media Creator products, I did want a version of ECD Creator with more features than the OEM version came with and v6Platinum was what I was looking for, but I figured it was long gone.ĭoes anyone have any info on this product? One post complained that since the product isn't even in the drop down registration list, that you can't register it or get support for it. It isn't on the site, but if it's v6 Platinum, you wouldn't expect it to be. One post complained that the product wasn't even on the Roxio site. So I came home and did a google serch for the product. This software was originally called Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator "6".Įasy CD & DVD Creator 6 Platinum software including: IMPORTANT:Note to existing Roxio customers. On the back of the box there is note that says: Has anyone heard of this Roxio Easy CD & DVD burning product? I just saw it at an Office Depot store.
